The next World Jamboree will be in Kirara-hama, Yamaguchi, Japan, July 28 to August 8, 2015. The Boy Scouts of America Contingent is planning to take 1,600 people. The young people and leaders from the Western Region will be a jamboree unit made up from several councils. The young men and women need to be 14 years of age but not yet 18. Older young adults may go but be part of the International Service Team or as third assistant leaders.
Young people registered as Explorers are not members of the Boy Scouts of America and thus will not be allowed to attend the Jamboree. Only people registered in 2015 are allowed to attend the World Jamboree.
The Fee for the 2015 World Jamboree is $5,750 which includes round-trip airfare from a commercial airport near the BSA participants home. The International Service Team fee will be $2,000 which does not include transportation to and from Japan. The fee for BSA participants will pay for Jamboree registration, a 2-3 day tour of Japan, ground transportation, meals, troop equipment, participant duffle bag, day pack, neckerchiefs and contingent patches. The fee will not cover any early or late departures due to medical or failure to live the Code of Conduct.
