I love Thanksgiving. The whole idea of a day set apart and dedicated to giving thanks and expressing gratitude seems so appropriate to me. We all have so much to be thankful for – good friends and loving families to start.
I am also grateful for the blessing it is to serve in the Trapper Trails Council with each of you. Our volunteers and staff are a testament to the value of the Scouting program and the visible force for good we can be in the lives of the youth that we serve. I give thanks each night for the difference Scouting has made in my life and the lives of my family members. I also thank God for the blessing of associating with you as well.
It is a pleasure to report that our council is growing and is strong. Today, the Trapper Trails Council is serving more youth than at any other time before. And this includes a growing outreach program to those who need our program now more than ever. Over 30,000 Scouts and leaders attended one of our camping properties in 2015 and benefited from our quality program efforts. And over 300,000 pounds of food were donated to local pantries as a result of Scouts and Scouters participating in Scouting For Food. Thanks to all those who helped make this a reality.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and thank you for all you do for Scouting. I pray God’s choicest blessing for you and your family and that He continues to bless the Trapper Trails Council.
